New Born Artwork

Your beautiful babies first photoshoot, one of the most exciting photo sessions the whole experience is simply heart warming.
Your little bundle of joy is only newborn size for a very short amount of time, capturing them so tiny is such a important moment to document in this art form a moment that you can look back on to treasure forever as wall art in your home. I recommend bringing your newborn to the studio within their first 5-14 days however we have posed many older newborns.
To most parents the first weeks are daunting and tiring, at my studio you are in very experienced hands.

Parents and siblings are included in the session photographs

I offer two different sessions for newborns both include a complimentary maternity or sitter session with one digital download.
(A photo package must be purchased to receive this).

The Newborn session:

For those who would like to capture their little ones using the full session with additional posing props.

Session length- four hours

Pricing– Sessions can be booked securing you two different dates for £125

The session fee includes:
-One digital download of your choice
-Advice and information about your booking
-Idea booklet on props that complement one another
-Limitless email to answer questions you have or a telephone appointment
-Use of all my props, outfits and accessories on the day
-Session fees need to be paid on booking to secure your dates
-Retouching of approximately 15-30 images for you to view (one digital image is included in your session fee)

A walk through your newborn session:

A newborn session is such a precious photo shoot, this is a session that is so close to my heart and the creativity and ideas for these sessions are planned out and put together with such passion and devotion. The props for a newborn shoot consist of bean bag fabrics, bonnets, headbands, hats, outfits, lovies, wraps, stuffers, layers, large artistic props physically and digitally. The list is endless, all my props come from natural fabric suppliers to ensure your newborn is content and warm throughout the session, these products come from renowned suppliers that specialise in creating items for your baby. Depending on the colour scheme and theme of your session new props are purchased before your session to create your dream bespoke artwork.

When enquiring about a newborn session it can seam very daunting this is your infant and you couldn’t be in safer hands, I am a BA (hons) Editorial Fashion and Portrait photographer fully qualified and insured and I will only work with a newborn poser and watcher so that there is always a pair of hands cm’s from your baby. This allows parents that are recovering from birth a time to relax and not have to help with an unfamiliar task. This is time for you to catchup with messages, read a book, take a small nap and just generally enjoy watching me create your perfect artwork.

To book a session we normally have a phone consultation to understand the style of artwork you would like and colour scheme if you know the gender. I will then save you two dates one near your due date and the other a few weeks after. The time to photograph your newborn is between 5-14 days however, we have successfully posed ‘older’ newborns.

Dates can always be moved if needed so please do not worry about this.

With your newborn session you receive a complimentary maternity or sitter session so we can discuss this too.

Once we have decided on dates you can complete your booking, you have digital idea booklets to browse through, and then its just waiting for your new bundle of joy to arrive then you can let me know which session you would like to attend or if we need to move the dates around to work with your birth date.

When you arrive for your session the studio is through the side gate and will take place in the log cabin at the back of the property. I will greet you at the gate and show you to the studio, please park fully on the parking space out the front or on the driveway. When preparing for your session please give your little one a feed as close to leaving your home as possible, if this isn’t something you can do this is absolutely fine.

All you need to bring for your baby is lots of milk power if you are bottle feeding and to just make sure your newborn is in a side popper or zip baby grow.

The studio is always lovely and warm for your newborn and we start the session in a full swaddle with the nappy on so we do not wake them. This is a perfect opportunity for family and sibling photographs also.

I then move to a few bean bag poses before starting work on your chosen props, capturing the artwork you have been creating in your mind from when you decided you desired myself, an artist to capture your newborn.

I spend the time creating your artwork with your chosen colour scheme using natural and organic materials so that your baby is comfortable throughout the entire session, we have enough time planned so that we can have cuddle and feeding breaks without rushing to complete your artwork. This is time for you to relax and catchup with messages from loved ones or read part of that book you haven’t finished. A newborn session is such an enjoyable moment many parents get very emotional watching myself and my newborn poser work.

After your session I spend time completing your newborn gallery this is a gallery I adore making, its so unique and personal to each family. Two-Three weeks is spent on this to ensure the gallery is just perfect colour texture and composition wise as many of my images have to be composed in Adobe Photoshop-such as the dreamcatcher.

Once you receive your artwork I know you will then be thinking further for future sessions as between having your session and receiving your artwork your baby would have already changed and developed. Here we can start to book in a three month mini to capture a few first smiles or book in your six/seven month complimentary sitter shoot.

All sessions take place in my home studio Surrey near Cobham
